I bought the car for myself, but I have just to many projects. This is
the year to buy. 1993 was the ONLY year with the NorthStar engine.
I bought her from an insurance auction. This is a car I have always
wanted, it was going to replace the BMW 633CSi that I was injured in in my
accident last year. I have too much on my plate right now. It is
a great car. Fires right up. We drove it up and down the highway
in front of our house. The right rear rubs do to the body damage.
If it did not have the body damage and the ensuing salvage title, it is
worth over well $20,000.00. If a salvage title does not bother you,
this may be your car. I have restored many cars like this that are
lightly hit and have had many years of enjoyable service out of the.
And not low end cars. Our Mercedes 600, the Porsche 968, all were
rescues from an insurance auction. |
| I believe
that it can be repaired one of two ways. Or you could part her,
shudder the thought, or, I was intending to do, you could clip her, or
replace the panels. In either case, here are the APPROXIMATE numbers,.
Please check for your self, the lowest I have found a rear clip is $1,400,
and the highest was $2,700.00. If you choose to replace the panels
you need a right rear frame rail, the inner and outer quarter panel and a
trunk floor. I found the parts on line, the rail was $493.82, floor
was $280.64, rear quarter was $492.18 and the inner quarter was in between
these prices, I had mislaid it. PLEASE confirm these prices for your
self. I do not want even a hint of misrepresentation on my part.
These prices came from a web parts supplier called Auto Parts for Less.
The mileage on her
is only 91,000 actual miles.
Your body man can give you
an estimate from these photos for the body work. As long as you are
painting the rear clip, I would hit the doors as they have the usual door
dings and scrapes. I would guess $2,500 give or take. It will
cost you less in rural America, more in New York. It is hard to put a
value on a car like this. It is a future collectable as it is an
Allante, the best year, triple black AND a NorthStar driveline. |
